Dr. Doug Ball is a physician specializing in medical technology
development.
After graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in
Physics, Dr. Ball completed an MD and a graduate degree in
Molecular and Cellular biology at Washington University in St.
Louis.
His clinical training includes, Surgery at Baylor College of
Medicine in Houston, followed by residency training in Radiology at
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
In addition to his experience in clinical medicine, he has a
unique background combining molecular biology, physical science and
information technology. This experience includes research on
magnetic resonance imaging, neural development, peripheral nerve
repair, and cumulative trauma disorder as well as computational
modeling and computer graphics.
In the course of this work, he has authored numerous research
protocols, grant applications, and publications and has spoken at
international conferences. In his current position as a
senior medical advisor at the North Texas Enterprise Center for
Medical Technology, he provides strategic insight and guidance with
respect to clinical, medical and life science innovation and
commercialization opportunities.
Dr. Ball has collaborated closely with numerous startup teams to
facilitate innovation and creative problem solving as part of the
product development process. He has assisted entrepreneurs
and innovators establish relationships with thought leaders,
scientists and key health care providers. He has participated with
management teams in prioritizing biomedical products and provided
guidance regarding the regulatory compliance process.
Dr. Ball is a member of the Product Development and Management
Association and the American Academy of Pharmaceutical
Physicians.
