Irene Rombel is the Founder and Principal of Biomedical Intelligence LLC.  Dr. Rombel conducts proprietary research for investors in the life science space, and also advises biomedical companies on business development and strategic planning.  Prior to founding Biomedical Intelligence LLC in April 2008, Dr. Rombel was a senior research analyst for Walker Smith and Greenway Capital from 2006 to 2008, covering the healthcare sector (including biotechnology, pharma, research tools, diagnostics, and medical devices).  From 2005 to 2006, Dr. Rombel was a healthcare analyst and Vice President of Cimarron Biomedical Investors, a pure life science hedge fund, while concomitantly serving as a consultant for Walker Smith and Greenway Capital.  From 1998 to 2004, Dr. Rombel was an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.  Dr. Rombel received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Otago in 1993, and her MBA from Southern Methodist University in 2005, graduating top of the class.  Dr. Rombel is also a registered US patent agent.
