Jim Galis
Video Game, Entertainment and Mobile Executive -

Jim has been in the video
game business for over a decade working as an Executive Producer in
a game development studio. He has shipped over eight major console
titles for publishers, such as Electronic Arts, Sega, THQ and
Atari. Jim has managed teams of engineers, artists, designers and
producers to deliver multi-million dollar projects on time and
within budget. His responsibilities have included studio strategy
planning, resource management, licensing, marketing, public
relations, as well as outsourcing with many independent content
providers around the world. He is proficient in all methods of
project management, including Agile, Scrum and Waterfall. Jim has
managed the licensor relationships on four console titles, working
with studios such as Paramount and C2 Pictures and acting as the
main point of contact for feedback and content approvals. He has
recently been involved in the mobile app business, working as the
CTO for a Dallas based start-up company. Jim has been an invited
speaker to the International Game Developers Conference as well as
local universities to educate students about the game development
industry. He has contributed to curriculum design for game
development programs at the SMU Guildhall and University of Texas
at Arlington and currently teaches a class at UTA on Game
Development. He spent the first ten years of his career writing
real-time graphics code for large military contractors in the area
of simulation. Jim received his BSE in Computer Science, and is a
member of ACM, SIGGRAPH and IGDA.
