John Peloza, MD

Dr. Peloza is an internationally recognized, Dallas-based
orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spine care. Practicing medicine
primarily in Dallas, Dr. Peloza is also an associate with the
prestigious Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. In addition,
he is the spine consultant to the United States Ski Team.
Dr. Peloza attended the United States Air Force Academy as an
Air Force Cadet and later received his bachelor's degree from the
University of Illinois. He received his medical degree with highest
honors from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He
completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He has completed fellowships
in sports medicine, knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery, and
spine surgery. He is an investigator on numerous medical
research studies related to back and spine pain. He was a pioneer
and clinical investigator of the BAK Interbody Fusion System, a new
treatment method used for lower back pain. He is one of a handful
of physicians participating in an FDA approved, national
multi-center study reviewing Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy, a
new minimally invasive procedure for chronic back pain sufferers.
Future projects include, Disc Regeneration and Artificial Disc
Implantation.
Dr. Peloza is active in numerous national and international
medical organizations such as the International Spine Injection
Society, North American Spine Society, American College of Sports
Medicine, American Medical Association, and the American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a Spine Scientific Advisory Board
Member for Oratec Interventions, Inc. and Sulzer Spine Tech,
Inc.
As a leader in his field, Dr. Peloza is frequently featured in
national and international print and electronic media such as The
Fox Network, ABC News, Good Morning America, SAT-1 German
Television, Reader's Digest, and many more.
An advocate of offering options to patients, Dr. Peloza operates
under the belief of recommending surgery as a last treatment
method. Dr. Peloza may offer patients other treatment options to
patient's such as minimally invasive procedures, pain blocks, and
so forth. He is an authority on the latest treatment options for
the back and spine, due to his active involvement with worldwide
medical organizations and participation in national research
studies.
Dr. Peloza is board certified by the American Board of
Orthopedic Surgery.
