John Zehmer, PhD

Director of Research and Development - APC Biotechnology

Dr. Zehmer is the Director of Research and Development for APC Biotechnology Services in Rockville, Maryland. APC Biotech is a startup company focusing on the development of peptide therapeutics and diagnostics for human and veterinary applications. Much of their work uses their proprietary recombinant manufacturing platform based on a ubiquitin-like fusion protein scaffold.

Dr. Zehmer holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University (2003) where he studied the biochemistry and biophysics of plasma membranes. His postdoctoral studies (2003-2008) in cell biology were conducted at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
