Kelley Stone, MBA

Kelley Stone began his career in law enforcement in 1974 as a
Patrol Officer for the Athens Police Department. In 1975 he
joined the Greenville Police Department and organized Greenville's
Neighborhood Watch and Crime Stoppers Program. In 1985, he
joined the Collin County Sheriff's Office where his duties included
Deputy Sheriff, Crime Prevention Officer and Tactical Operations
Team/Field Training Officer. Five years later, he was promoted to
the rank of Sergeant in charge of Professional Standards. In 1991,
he was promoted to Captain over Operations and was then promoted to
the rank of Major, where he served in that capacity until last
year. On October 28th 2002 the Collin County
Commissioners' Court appointed Kelley as Collin County's first
Director of Homeland Security.
Kelley received his Bachelor Degree in Business Management from
LeTourneau University, graduating Summe Cum Laude. He is
pursuing an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Kelley is also a graduate of the 189th Session of the
FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia and the Bill Blackwood
Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas at Sam Houston State
University.
Kelley serves on the McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission and
is a member of the Board of Directors with Avenues
Counseling. Kelley was recently honored by Inside Collin
County Business as one of the 21 for the 21st
Century.
