Dr. Simpson is an orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in
surgery of the foot and ankle. He obtained both his B.S. and
M.D. degrees from Northwestern University. He completed his
post-graduate orthopaedic surgery residency at Brooke Army Medical
Center and later completed a Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery
at the prestigious Campbell Clinic. Dr. Simpson joined Plano
Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in 1995 and practiced as a partner
until 2002. At that time, Dr. Simpson began a two year
sabbatical, during which time he researched emerging technologies
and business structures as they relate to physicians in
general and orthopaedic surgeons in particular. He also
devoted substantial time to the study of new treatment modalities
for musculoskeletal medicine.
Dr. Simpson has been active in both clinical and administrative
sides of medicine. He served as Chief of Orthopaedics at
Presbyterian Plano Hospital, a member of the Credentials Committee
at Medical Center Plano, and remains on the Board of Directors of
the Patient-Physician Holding Company. He was a member of the
steering committee at Frisco Medical Center, a majority
physician-owned surgical hospital which at the time was one of the
largest physician-owned ventures of its kind. He joined the
scientific advisory board of the North Texas Enterprise Center for
Medical Technology in 2004.
Dr. Simpson resides in Frisco with his wife, Dr. Pamela
Patten. They have traveled the world together and continue to
enjoy visiting ancient historic sites. They share a mutual
love for photography, architecture and the outdoors.
