Phil Buttell

Centerpoint Medical Center
Most recently, Phil served as the Chief Operating Officer of
Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Texas. In his nearly
three years there, Phil managed the day-to-day operations of the
newly constructed hospital where, among other many accomplishments,
he developed a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center and
negotiated an agreement to name Centennial Medical Center a
national showsite for GE Healthcare. Prior to joining
Centennial Medical Center, Phil served as Associate Administrator
of John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, California.
In his role as Vice President of Business Development at CUMC,
Phil will oversee strategic business planning, marketing, public
relations, physician relations and community involvement.
Phillip earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of
Kansas School of Law as well as a Master's Degree in Health
Services Administration from the University of Kansas School of
Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy
from Rockhurst College, where he graduated cum laude.
Phil authored an article on patient privacy called "Security and
Privacy in the Electronic Environment Created by HIPPA," which was
published in the Kansas Journal of Law and Public
Policy. He is also co-authoring a chapter on 'Quality
and Patient Safety' for the soon to be published three volume book
entitled The Business of Healthcare.
