Victor Babich obtained his MS in Physics in 1997 from the St.
Petersburg Polytechnic State University (Russia) and his PhD in
Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2000 from The Institute of
Cytology Russian Academy of Sciences (Russia). His PhD thesis was
on the study of mobile genetic element regulation of human gene
expression. From 2001 to 2007 he successfully completed two
postdoctoral fellowships, the first at the UT Southwestern Medical
Center (Dallas, TX) and the second at the National Institute for
Medical Research MRC (London, UK). The main focus of both
fellowships was the study of protein trafficking, respectively, in
the renal and cardiovascular systems. Since 2007 Victor is holding
a junior faculty position at the UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Victor is author or co-author of over 12 publications in peer
reviewed scientific journals and over 10 presentations in
international scientific meetings. He was awarded grants from
the St. Petersburg Government (Russia) and American Society of
Nephrology.
