NTEC is launching its very first Hackathon, called “hack|ed ntx”, which will be an event integrating education, innovation and collaboration. hack|ed, is presented by NTEC, Parish Episcopal School, iLLUMINATE STEM and the Guild of Software Architects, and will feature a traditional competitive track for experienced students and professionals, but will also integrate an educational track, for younger (middle school-age) students with little or no experience.
hack|ed competitors will work together to design, build and present innovative applications specifically for iOS and Android wearable platforms to a panel of judges with the goal of winning the competition and making meaningful connections with mentors and community players.
The goal of the educational track is to expose students to problem solving through coding and design thinking, in a collaborative environment where professionals are providing instruction and guidance. By exposing younger students to design innovation and coding, organizers hope hack|ed engages them to become future leaders in development, technology and entrepreneurship.
NTEC is currently seeking to engage smart, passionate and influential leaders who want to serve as sponsors, teachers, mentors and/or volunteers. The event welcomes students, schools, engineers/developers, user experience designers, marketing professionals, investors, entrepreneurs, and the press for a fun, energetic, collaborative event. With the help of sponsors, hack|ed will be a free two day event.
The event kicks off on Friday, February 26th from 5pm to 10pm, then will continue on Saturday, February 27th, from 9am to 5pm. It will be hosted at Parish Episcopal School’s Midway Campus located at 4104 Sigma Road, Dallas, TX 75244.
