And for fledgling companies in the medical technology field, the stakes can be even higher. The success or failure of these innovations - which are often intended to save people's lives or improve their care in critical health situations - can often mean the difference between life and death for many people.

The North Texas Enterprise Center for Medical Technology's sole purpose as a nonprofit is to foster and nurture young companies in this field.
