NTEC Admits infiniRel Corporation to its Acceleration Program
FRISCO, TX -
February, 2010 --- The North Texas Enterprise Center
(NTEC), a business accelerator for healthcare and cleantech related
technology firms, announced today that it has signed up infiniRel
Corporation as the newest company in its acceleration program.
infiniRel is a privately held renewable energy technology
company headquartered in Frisco, Texas, that was formed with the
goal of bringing infinite reliability to energy conversion and
storage systems. Using proprietary digital signal processing
techniques, the system will accurately forecast impending power
equipment failure, helping solar operators to reduce unexpected
truck roll cost and minimize downtime, while improving the
availability and reliability of power. The initial product can be
either implemented on new installations or retrofitted to
photovoltaic inverters for commercial and utility-scale solar
plants and consists of a web-connected data-acquisition module and
an application suite that seamlessly integrates with existing
Performance Monitoring & Reporting Services (PMRS) systems.
Comparable to a check-engine light in a vehicle's diagnostic
system, the infiniRel solution gives solar energy service providers
the opportunity to make educated decisions concerning equipment
health and optimize maintenance schedules for increased
profitability. Equipment manufacturers also have the opportunity to
retrieve forensic data for failure analysis and product
improvements that otherwise is not available, similar to a "black
box" used in aircraft.
"infiniRel represents our
first portfolio company outside of medtech," said Larry Calton,
executive director at NTEC. "We have been reviewing business
opportunities in clean tech for nearly six months and infiniRel
possesses the characteristics we associate with early stage
companies that do well in this market. Their initial product
focuses on inverter failure which is a well established weak link
in the solar and wind power generation chains." "Further, we see
significant opportunity in applying the core intellectual property
of inifiniRel to other applications where a predictive maintenance
solution can immediately and materially impact a customer's bottom
line."
"Joining NTEC is a
significant milestone for our company," said Bert Wank, CEO of
infiniRel. "While we are bringing predictive maintenance solutions
to the energy conversion market, it is reassuring to have the
backing of an organization with a track record of successful
acceleration of start ups that take full advantage of the talent
available in the North Texas high-tech corridor," he said.
