NTEC Graduates Program Company: ErgoNurse
FRISCO, TX - October 15, 2009 --- The North
Texas Enterprise Center for Medical Technology (NTEC), an
organization that helps medical device and healthcare related
technology firms accelerate their growth, announced today that
ErogoNurse has put in place the necessary building blocks for long
term success and has "graduated" from NTEC's business acceleration
program.
"ErgoNurse has successfully designed, manufactured and is now
selling their initial product, the ErgoNurse. They have built an
experienced management team and attracted appropriate financial
resources - positioning the company for long term growth and
success," said Larry Calton, executive director of NTEC.
ErgoNurse is a medical device development company addressing a
critical issue faced by patients, nurses and caregivers worldwide
today - patient lifting and movement in the hospital, in nursing
homes and within personal residences. The device was created
after the founder of the company, a registered nurse, was injured
while lifting patients on the job. Currently with four models
in production, the ErgoNurse patient lift platform of products
greatly reduce risk of injury and disability to caregivers by
providing them with a simple, easy to use and cost effective
mechanical lift system. A caregiver can reposition, center
and turn a patient without the need to seek assistance, allowing
patients to be repositioned on schedule to avoid pressure ulcers
(bed sores).
ErgoNurse is well positioned to benefit from the emphasis
being placed on cost savings in hospitals and on reduced patient
care costs. Treatment of bed sores alone can cost as much as
$50,000 per incident, and hospitals are no longer being reimbursed
for such complications.
"NTEC has been a valuable strategic partner during the
development stages of ErgoNurse. NTEC offers a highly effective
service to start-ups in the medical device industry throughout
North Texas, and our company has benefited from the synergy of this
partnership," stated David Stiles, CEO.
"Our job is to be the catalyst to accelerate the growth of the
medical device industry and related job creation in this region,"
said Calton. We are confident that ErgoNurse will make a
significant economic and humanitarian impact locally, nationally
and internationally," adds Mr. Calton. Based in Frisco,
Texas, ErgoNurse's success is key to the area's economic
development plans in the medical device industry.

ABOUT ERGONURSE
ErgoNurse Inc. is based in Frisco TX, with sales representation
nationwide. Our purpose is the creation of "No-Lift"
solutions for the problems faced by caregivers in hospitals,
nursing homes and home health.
The ErgoNurse™ saves caregivers from back and shoulder injuries,
protects patients from acquiring pressure ulcers and saves
hospitals millions of dollars in injury related expenses. The
ErgoNurse solves the two biggest safety problems faced by
caregivers, manually pulling patients up in bed and turning
patients.
The ErgoNurse™ stands behind the hospital bed to enable a single
caregiver to safely pull a total care patient up in bed or to turn
the patient, by simply attaching the ErgoNurse sheet clamps to the
bed linen and then lowering the bed. The ErgoNurse™ also allows
caregivers to safely turn patients for cleaning and linen
changes.
The ErgoNurse™ provides a safe, "No-Lift "means to transfer
patients off of their beds when used in combination with other
companies' products. The ErgoNurse™ elevates or turns the
patient to facilitate the "No-Lift" placement of slings or
mattresses underneath the patient for transfer off the bed.
The ErgoNurse™ is a break-through product which for the first
time makes it possible to create a virtually "No-Lift"
environment.
